I just finished reading this book and I highly recommend it to anyone that might be interested in reading a satirical novel. I honest am not the type of person that reads books often.
But this book kept me pretty interested from beginning to end. It's basically about a bombardier (Yossarian) in the army set in WW2, he is trying everything in his power to get dismissed or grounded because he is afraid of dying. He believes that everyone is out to get him and everyone is trying to kill him. There's 2 problems with that though, Colonel Catchart keeps raising the amount of missions that each person needs to fly in order to get grounded. The second one is Catch-22 which you'll learn about in the book. Anyways, Yossarian and his army buddies all behave in humorous ways trying to employ their hair-brained ideas on how they will get grounded.
Almost each main character has an entire chapter dedicated to them, although it all compiles into one story which is probably my favorite thing about this novel. I got a few laughs from this book so it's well worth the read.
thanks for the recommendation maybe ill check it out

ReplyDeleteYeah, it has a lot of comedy in it. But, the main focus is Yossarian trying to get out of the war which is heart wrenching when it gets to the ending.
